Božićni praznici svečano su proslavljeni u svim opštinama Braničevskog okruga a posebno masovno učešće građana zabeleženo je u Požarevcu. U porti Saborne crkve, u prisustvu brojnih pravoslavnih vernika, među kojima je bio i gradonačelnik Miomir Ilić, obavljeno je tradicionalno paljenje badnjaka. Osveštanje badnjaka obavio je NJegovo Preosveštenstvo Еpiskop požarevačko-braničevske Еparhije dr Ignjatije Midić sa sveštenstvom. Slavljenje najradosnijeg hrišćanskog praznika nasavljeno je u Hramu posvećenom Svetoj Petki u požarevačkom naselju „Busije“.
Uoči Božića, NJegovo Preosveštenstvo Еpiskop Braničevske Еparhije dr Ignjatije, uputio je svim vernicima tradicionalnu Božićnu poslanicu. Tom prilikom Еpiskop Ignjatije je podsetio na značaj ovog praznika. Nakon podsećanja na dogadjaj o Isusovom rođenju, pozvao je u Božićnoj poslanici vernike da u miru i ljubavi proslave Božić.
