Centar Ministarstva odbrane u Požarevcu najuspešniji je regionalni centar tog ministarstva u 2011. godini, saopštili su zvaničnici nadležnog Ministarstva na svečanosti upriličenoj tim povodom u svečanoj sali Gradskog zdanja gde su uručena priznanja, zahvalnice i pokloni. Načelnik uprave za obaveze odbrane u Beogradu, pukovnik Dragoslav Lacković, kaže da je, prema sveobuhvatnim analizama, centar u Požarevcu po dostignutom stepenu priprema za odbranu i drugim pokazateljima najbolji u Srbiji. On je istakao i zasluge lokalne samouprave i državne uprave u Požarevcu na podršci u stvaranju prostornih i materijalno-tehničkih uslova za rad centra odbrane.

Ministarstvo je sa 20.000 dinara nagradilo načelnika Centra u Požarevcu potpukovnika Dragana Momčilovića, zatim vojnia lica, predstavnike državnih ustanova i druge odgovorne pojedinace u sistemu odbrane.

Gradonačelnik Požarevca Miodrag Milosavljević, istakao je da, nakon Apotekarske ustanove i Istorijskog arhiva koji su poslednjih godina proglašeni za najbolje među srodnim ustanovama, Grad može da se podiči najboljim regionalnim Centrom ministarstva odbrane.
