Jedna od institucija u oblasti kulture grada Požarevca koja, zapaženim nastupima svojih članova širom zemlje i inostranstva, najuspešnije afirmiše stvaralaštvo i svoj zavičajni grad je Muzička škola „Stevan Mokranjac“, istaknuto je prilikom proslave 63. godišnjice ove ustanove. Svečana akademija je održana je u koncertnoj sali škole uz prisustvo gradonačelnika Miomira Ilića, zamenica gradonačelnika Vukice Vasić, predsednik Skupštine grada Požarevca Žarka Pivca, zamenika predsednika Skupštine Milića Jovanovića, člana gradskog veća zaduženog za prosvetu i kulturu Radomira Mihajlovića, direktora osnovnih i srednjih škol, predstavnika Školskog odbora, crkve, direktora ustanova u kulturi i saradnika škole.

Direktor Zoran Marić je pozdravio prisutne i podsetio na rezultate koje je tokom školske godine koja je pri kraju ova prosvetna ustanova ostvarila.

Gradonačelnik Miomir Ilić je čestitao Dan škole i izrazio zadovoljstvo što se nalazi u, kako je rekao, „Jednoj od najuspešnijih muzičkih škola u Srbiji, koja svake godine postiže vrhunske rezultate na domaćim i međunarodnim takmičenjima“. On je naglasio da rezultati škole proističu iz dugogodišnje prakse, dobre pedagoške organizacije, vaspitno – obrazovnog rada i organizacije republičkih i međunarodnih takmičenja, kao i kvalitetnog rada učenika, profesora i radnika u Požarevcu, Kostolcu, Malom Crniću, Velikom Gradištu i Kučevu, gde aktivno rade odeljenja požarevačke Muzičke škole.

– Vaša škola je ustanova sa prepoznatljivim identitetom, predstavlja dobar vaspitno kulturni model učenicima, celinom svoga rada i raznovrsnim aktivnostima, bogatim nastavnim i vannastavnim sadržajima. Planski i kontinuirano sarađuje sa Gradskom upravom i različitim relevantnim institucijama sa ciljem da učenici formiraju dobru teorisku i stručnu osnovu, razviju motivaciju za učenje i intelektualni rad kao i da se utiče na stvaranje osnove za razvoj kulturnih potreba kod učenika, rekao je gradonačelnik i istakao:

– Škola je postala kulturno i duhovno gnezdo iz koga su se vinuli mnogi stručnjaci u kulturi, nauci i obrazovanju, tako da je ona sada prestižna i prosperitetna i ponos srpske prosvete i kulture. Danas sija punim sjajem, kao predvodnik modernih škola. Učenicima nudi raznovrsne odseke i programe, daje stručna upustva o načinu njihovog korišćenja, elastična je i osposobljena za stalne promene programa. Uspešno ispunjava društveno – vaspitnu i socijalnu funkciju u muzičkom prosvečivanju mladih generacija i zato u vašu školu stižu mnoga priznanja, pohvale i nagrade sa republičkih i međunarodnih takmičenja. Vaš Dan škole je još jedna potvrda da nastavljate lepu i pozitivnu tradiciju, koja će ući u istoriju prosvete i kulture u Srbiji. S pravom možemo reći da su muzički talenti ove škole nacionalno blago o kome grad brine i stvara uslove za brži razvoj i napredovanje. O talentima moraju brinuti sve institucije – od lokalne samouprave do najviših državnih organa, posebno o deci iz osetljivih grupa, seoskoj, romskoj i siromašnoj. Grad Požarevac ima razumevanja i podržava napore škola koje rade sa talentima. Preko Fonda za nagrađivanje učenika dodeljujemo novčane nagrade učenicima koji na republičkim i međunarodnim takmičenjima osvoje jedno od prva tri mesta“. Gradonačelnik Ilić je kolektivu škole i učenicima poželeo još više nagrada i uspeha u radu.

It shines in full splendor, as a pioneer of modern schools. Students with a variety of departments and programs, provides professional instructions  on how to use them, is elastic and capable of continuous change program. Successfully meet the educational and social function of music in educating the young generation, so in your school come many awards, honors and awards from the republican and international competitions. Your school day is yet another confirmation that continue the tradition of beautiful and positive, that will go down in history education and culture in Serbia. We can rightly say that the musical talents of the school a national treasure of which the town takes care and creates conditions for faster development and progression. The talent must worry all institutions – from local government to the highest state authorities, especially for children from vulnerable groups, rural, poor… City Pozarevac understands and supports the efforts of schools working with talent.
