U prostorijama Mesne zajednice „Bulevar“ u Požarevcu formiran je prvi i, za sada jedini, kutak gde će osobe sa invaliditetom, posebno one vezane za invalidska kolica, moći duže da borave, druže se i zabavljaju što svedoči da je ovaj poduhvat, podržan lokalnom samoupravom, realizovan iz najhumanijih pobuda. Inače, osim što je u priličnom broju institucija u Požarevcu zbog arhitektonskih barijera onemogućen pristup osobama koje se kreću uz pomoć invalidskih kolica, ne postoje druga pomagala pa ni toaleti koji su u potpunosti prilagođeni za ovu grupu stanovništva.

Mesna zajednica Bulevar nedavno je uredila pristupnu rampu, ugradila razna pomagala pa i potpuno opremila kompletan sanitarni čvor sa toaletom potpuno prilagođen potrebama osoba sa invaliditetom. Savet ove mesne zajednice izdvojio je 80.000 dinara sopstvenih sredstava. Tim novcem proširena su ulazna vrata, srušen jedan pregradni zid i postavljeni rukohvati u toaletu. Prostorije mesne zajednice savet je ustupio na redovno korišćenje društvima koja okupljaju osobe sa invaliditetom.

To je bio povod za organizovanje prigodne priredbe kojoj su, između ostalih, prisustvovali predsednik Skupštine grada Požarevca Žarko Pivac. Otvarajući skup, predsednik Saveta mesne zajednice Dejan Rakić ovaj dan je nazvao istorijskim za grad i ljude sa posebnim potrebama. Na ovaj potez u mesnoj zajednici odlučili su se nakon jednog višečasovnog sastanka republičkog odbora Društva osoba sa amputacijama koji je održan na Bulevaru, rekao je Rakić. Biljana Damnjanović iz udruženja amputiraca u Požarevcu pozdravila je potez ljudi iz mesne zajednice. Ona međutim napominje da je u mnogim, pre svega zdravstvenim institucijama potpuno onemogućen pristup ljudima u kolicima, kao i da ne postoje toaleti uređeni da potpuno zadovolje potrebe ovog dela stanovništva.In the premises of the local community, „Boulevard“ in Pozarevac was formed first, and so far the only corner where people with disabilities, especially those confined to a wheelchair, able to live longer, play and entertain the evidence that this proposition, supported local government, carried out the most humane reasons.
